Fanwood, NJ – Chelsea Senior Living (“Chelsea”), a leader in senior housing and care, has started offering COVID-19 vaccine booster shots to the residents in all of its communities.
This extra dose of the Pfizer vaccine was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) last month for individuals 16 years and older.
Chelsea residents who received the first shot of the vaccination series in January are now eligible for the booster, having received the second shot at least six months ago.
Chelsea has arranged since earlier this month for all booster vaccinations to be administered by IPPC Pharmacy and Chelsea nurses onsite at each community for the convenience of the residents. Employees can receive the booster from CVS and Walgreens.
“We strongly encourage all residents to participate in receiving the booster to protect them from any threats of the virus compromising their health,” said Pat Banta, Chelsea’s Regional Director of Health Services. “We’ve been staying in front of this deadly disease from the beginning, with our residents’ safety always being our top priority.”
Chelsea has also provided access to monoclonal antibody (mAb) therapy for all residents in each of its communities. This groundbreaking treatment helps fight the symptoms of COVID-19 and reduce the risk of severe disease and hospitalization.
