In the heart of Westchester County, The Chelsea at Greenburgh is making headlines not just for its state-of-the-art community but for the exceptional dedication and passion of its staff. With a blend of experience from various sectors and a deep personal connection to senior care, the team at this community has cultivated a truly special environment for their residents.

Executive Director Diane Mandracchia, who transitioned from a successful 20-year career in the hotel industry working with prestigious names like Marriott and Hilton, found a new calling in senior care. After producing major conventions and programs, Diane sought a role with a more profound impact.
“I wanted to try something else, something more meaningful,” Diane said.
Her initial role as a Director of Community Relations (DCR) immediately felt right. She recalled a memorable first tour with a family that lasted three hours, marking the beginning of her new journey.
“It was really the interactions with the residents and the families,” she said. “I immediately became part of their family.”
Mandracchia’s role has allowed her to build meaningful relationships and implement programs like Sit N’ Sip with the Executive Director, a casual, informal gathering meant to foster communication and connection.
“It’s not just about being real with the residents, but also about creating a family environment where everyone feels comfortable and valued,” she said.
Francesca’s Personal Touch
Francesca Piacentino, the community’s DCR with nearly two decades in the field, brings a personal connection to her work. Growing up in the Bronx with grandparents close by, her early experiences with family caregiving profoundly influence her approach.
“I have a parent affected with early onset dementia, so it’s taken on a different meaning for myself,” she said.
Her deep-rooted compassion stems from her own experiences and memories of visiting what was once Frank’s Nursery, now the site of The Chelsea at Greenburgh. Francesca’s commitment to treating every resident as if they were her own loved one is evident.
“The industry has changed so much,” she said. “You have to advocate for your loved one. If there’s anything you’re not happy about, you should speak up.”
Brittany’s Full Circle

Brittany Gordon’s connection to senior care is both personal and professional.
Raised by a single father who worked in a nursing home, Brittany spent much of her childhood in that environment. Her diverse background—from working in social services and rehabilitating drug addicts to assisting youth affected by trafficking—culminates in her current role, which she finds deeply fulfilling.
“This is probably one of the best jobs I’ve ever had,” said Gordon, the community’s Case Manager. “Being able to help and assist residents with things really means the world to me.”
Her experiences have given her a unique perspective on the importance of patience and gratitude.
“I feel this is an extended family and I love my residents,” she said.
Sheila’s Legacy of Care
Sheila Owens’ 30-year nursing career, sparked by a desire to balance work and family life, has led her to Greenburgh’s senior living community. Starting from day one, the Assistant Director of Health Services has witnessed the community’s growth.
“I’m not coming on trying to figure out who’s who,” she said. “I know them from day one.”
Her long-standing commitment and understanding of the residents’ needs underscore the importance of communication in successful caregiving.
“I’m able to help where I’m needed and go above and beyond if necessary,” she said.
Monique’s Dedication
Monique Francis, known for her quick responses to family members’ emails and calls, emphasizes the importance of communication in maintaining trust and reassurance for families.
“If I was in their shoes, I would want to know what’s going on with my loved one,” said Francis, the Country Cottage Coordinator.
Together, these dedicated staff members create a vibrant and caring community. Their diverse backgrounds and personal connections to senior care contribute to an environment where residents feel valued, understood, and at home. Their commitment to transforming the senior living experience into one of genuine family and support is what truly sets this community apart.
