Shanyn leads all business and operational aspects of the community. Her objective is to consistently make all residents satisfied, comfortable, and fulfilled. She has been in senior living for the past three decades and it is truly her passion.
Prior to joining The Chelsea at Toms River, Shanyn was the Executive Director at Leisure Park. She was responsible for keeping the residents happy and engaged with all aspects of community life.
Her success as an Executive Director was first recognized while working at Voorhees Senior Living where she received the JD Power Award for Assisted Living in 2019. She was there for seven years.
Prior to that, she was the Regional Director of Food and Dining at Five Star Senior Living, managing the overall quality, service, and performance of the company’s dining services for several communities.
Shanyn wants to create the best experience for the residents and advocate for those that don’t have anyone to speak on their behalf. In her free time, she loves to go to the beach, read a good book, travel, go fishing, boating, and listen to music. She also coaches boys recreational soccer for Toms River FC.
Alyssa received her undergraduate degree from Kean University and set her sights on a career in rehabilitation when fate took her to a senior care facility as admissions coordinator.
“I started in activities then got a promotion to admissions and really liked it,” she says. “And I’ve been working with seniors ever since.”
Alyssa’s smile lights up a room and her energy and positive attitude are a joy to behold. As Director of Community Relations, she is a welcoming presence for new residents, helping them transition into our community.
She currently resides in Belmar.
