Chelsea Donates to Montville First Responders

The Chelsea at Montville had a visit this week from the local fire department and first aid squad. As in typical Chelsea fashion, the community raised significant funds to donate to first responders in the area.

Executive Director Leonard Polillo of The Chelsea at Montville handed a $1,000 check to Marlene Lepore, Chief Dispatcher for the Montville Township First Aid Squad, and another $1,000 check to Donald Welter, Chief of the Pine Brook Fire Department.

Lepore and Welter both say this will help them purchase critical supplies and equipment.

Welter added that while visiting The Chelsea, residents came up to him to show their appreciation for the fire department’s service.

“That’s one of the reasons why I joined the fire department – to help the community,” he said.

The residents also created a beautiful wood painting of the American flag for the first aid squad.

Chelsea continues to think of ways to give back to the local townships and boroughs that we are a part of. If you have a cause that you feel we can contribute to, please give us a call at 1-877-243-5732.
