Enjoy the safety, peace and comfort of a community setting while still enjoying the complete privacy of your own apartment. Chelsea Independent Living offers beautiful, spacious studio, 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom private rental apartments attached at our Fanwood and West Milford communities, plus 12 luxury 2-bedroom apartments in Fanwood which we call The Lofts at Chelsea.

All of our independent living apartments are for active seniors who do not require skilled nursing care and who want to enjoy the security, support, and social and recreational opportunities that a Chelsea community provides.

Our West Milford Independent Living residents are just a short walk from Bald Eagle Square, a thriving shopping center providing all the necessities one might need. Our Fanwood Independent Living residents are right in the middle of a small town business district with easy access to shopping, dining, beauty salons, parks, the public library, trains and buses to New York City and the Jersey shore. Transportation to medical appointments can be arranged upon request.

Our independent living apartments include:

  • Fully functional kitchens
  • Intercom system (Fanwood)
  • 24-hour emergency response system
  • Two meals a day at West Milford; meal plans available at Fanwood at additional cost
